]]> The fifth class of the Clayton Valley Athletic Hall of Fame was inducted on May 19, 2017 at the Shadelands Auditorium in Walnut Creek. Even before the honorees were inducted into the HOF, Steve Woodruff of the 1972 Wrestling Team led the audience in the CVHS school song. Committee chairperson Herc Pardi said, “It was a great, spirited start of the program. The song lyrics are printed on the back of the program but many knew by heart”. Pardi was especially delighted that eight members of the 1960 CVHS baseball team were on hand for their induction, 57 years after their last game. Besides the athletes, coaches and teams that were inducted, the Community Leadership award went to Matt and Michele Hill who spent ten years developing and running the CVHS boys lacrosse program. The couple also spent more time away from the playing fields helping to raise money and promoting the lacrosse program. This years inductees include five outstanding teams that ranged from the 1960 league champion boys baseball team to the 1994 girls swimming and water polo teams.

]]> The induction of the fourth class of athletes, coaches, teams and community leaders took place Saturday, May 16th at the Centre Concord. Hall of Fame Committee chairperson Herc Pardi served as Master of Ceremony for this latest event. Inductees spanned a period of forty years from the mid ’60’s to 2005. Mike Haluchak, a 2008 inductee, gave a keynote address on what his years at CVHS meant to him in terms of his development as a high school, college and professional football player. Erin Dobratz McGregor, a 2004 Olympic Bronze Medalist in synchronized swimming along with fellow swimmer Kara Kohler who also won an Olympic Bronze Medal in rowing, were also both inducted. The 1967 Wrestling team, a powerhouse in the 1960’s that won thirty straight dual matches over a three year period along with DVAL and North Coast titles was one of two teams that entered the Hall of Fame.

]]> Saturday May 18, 2013 marked the date of the induction ceremony for the third class of individuals, teams, coaches and community leaders to the Clayton Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held at the Centre Concord and included a diverse group of multi-sport athletes – many from the early days of CVHS sports history. This years inductees included Carl Massey, a three sport star of the ’60’s and Ron Olson, a 1970 graduate who set baseball pitching records that still stand today. In addition, football and baseball standouts Damon and Justin Mashore were also inducted joining their father Clyde who was enshrined with the first class of
athletes in 2008. The girls 1998 basketball team that finished with a 26-4 record and won both the league and North Coast titles were also present at the ceremony.

]]> One of the highlights of Clayton Valley High Schools 50th anniversary two years ago was the ceremony inducting the
inaugural group into the CVHS Athletic Hall of Fame. On October 30th, an incredible array of athletes, coaches, teams and community leaders from the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s were memorialized at the second Clayton Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony held at Centre Concord. A committee of long-time CVHS coaches and alumni selected a distinguished Class of 2010 to join to the inaugural Hall of Fame Class from 2008 – fifty years after the school opened in 1958.

Hall of Fame committee co-chairs Dee Billeter and Bill Nelson gathered nominees from the general public during the past year. Making the final selections with the chairs were committee members Ralph Belluomini, Dennis Bledsoe, Pete Carpino, Ron Clark, Tom Di Mercurio, Dick Ellis, Debra Gonsalves, A.J. Hanson, Karen Johnson, Kim Lackey, John Millar and Herc Pardi.
